The District Administration specially acknowledges the
services rendered by the Army by not only managing 2 big relief camps
but also managing the 2 sensitive camps i.e. Memana and Valiyakulangara,
in which the families of the deceased were exclusively accommodated. The
love and affection shared by the Army personnel were widely acclaimed
by the Tsunami affected families themselves and the victims gave the Army
a tearful farewell when the Army had to leave the camps. Our special thanks
to the Army for operating the Junkar Service between Ayiramthengu and
Azhhekkal.
Many other NGOs have worked in the affected area and
interacted with the affected families, shared their moments of grief,
rendered not only medical treatment but also required psychological counseling
to live with the tragedy and instilled new hope in their lives. The District
Administration sincerely acknowledges such efforts.
